KMA Umwelttechnik is an owner-managed family enterprise, which had been established in 1959 by Josef Kurtsiefer as a metal processing company. In the beginnings the company concentrated on the production of doors, gates and metal facades. But in the 1970s followed soon the change to the plant construction. The emerging laws for the environmental protection have led to the specialization in exhaust air filtration systems for the food industry. In the course of the company´s extension KMA expanded its delivery program to additional application areas as for example metal industry, foundries, textile industry and further industrial areas for use.
Important principles are always on the focus of the company goals:
For KMA the principle sustainability had already priority long before it became a buzzword of the environmental protection under the term Sustainable Development. Thus eco-efficiency is always a commandment in the specifications of our KMA engineers when designing new filter components: KMA filters are characterized by the selection of high-quality and durable materials (material efficiency) and low energy consumption (energy efficiency). Shifting effects or unwanted secondary emissions are avoided to a large extent, such as they are results during operation in incineration plants for example. Various awards and environmental prizes illustrate the high development and quality standard of KMA´s filter technology. The KMA AAIRMAXX® filter process is funded by the German Federal Environment Foundation and won the DLG-FoodTec-Award 1996, the highest award for innovative and trendsetting technical achievements in the food technology in Europe, due to its ecological mode of work.
An experienced team of process technicians works at KMA on several topics related to exhaust air purification. In close collaboration with universities and other research institutions KMA carries out theoretical and applied research in the environmental technology for many years. The results make us proud and have made KMA world market leader in certain areas of application.
KMA is resident in Königswinter in the Siebengebirge on the Rhine. In modern plant facilities exhaust air filtration systems are manufactured for various application areas. Internationally KMA is supported by numerous authorized distributors, resellers and OEM partners. In 2002 KMA got the ISO 9001:2000 certification, which has later been included in the currently valid ISO 9001:2008 certification. In 2007 the company was renamed KMA Umwelttechnik GmbH. Since 2012 KMA started its presence with the representative offer KMA Environmental Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in China. In 2015 KMA commissioned a further production building for manufacturing filter components in Koenigswinter.
The delivery program of KMA contains a comprehensive module system with extraction devices, filter components and controls. This makes it possible to realize along with many standard solutions also customized adaptations for special applications. That permits maximum flexibility and adaptability to respective application, without having to forego the advantages of efficient serial production.
